What is Qigong?

Qigong (pronounced “chee-gong”) is an ancient Chinese mind-body practice that combines gentle, intentional movement, focused breathing, and meditation to cultivate and balance the body’s vital energy, or qi.

Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is designed to optimise physical health, mental clarity and spiritual well-being.

Across China and much of Asia, Qigong is a part of daily life: practised every morning in parks, squares and open spaces by millions of people, often well into their eighties and nineties.

Qigong opens the body, works the muscles and settles the mind, and it’s suitable for every level of experience and physical ability, including rehabilitation.

We work with the seasons, because our bodies run to the same rhythm as the earth.

Qigong is both a personal practice and a shared one. What we do in class gives you something to practise at home between sessions.
